Why Word blocks the operation

The add-in retains an anchor and can compare expected text, its fingerprint, or other range indicators. If you move the cursor, edit text, or change the selection, the original target may no longer be safe. Stopping protects the document from a change in the wrong place.

Resume with current context

  1. Review the generated result and any changes already applied.

  2. Select the passage after which to insert, or place the cursor at the intended insertion point.

  3. Verify that the content still fits the document and that the current target is correct.

  4. Choose the offered recovery action; it applies the eligible insertion to the current target.

  5. Inspect the result immediately in Word.

Practical guidance

The offered recovery applies to eligible insert-after-selection operations that failed because the selection became stale. It is not a general retry for replacement, deletion or every failed plan. Selecting the recovery action captures the current selection or cursor and applies the eligible insertion there; check the target before choosing it.

Advanced tips

If part of a plan already succeeded, inspect those changes first. Recovery should not repeat successful edits. When the generated text no longer fits the revised document, request new content rather than moving an outdated result to a new location.
