Understand the Alæc task pane in Word
Locate the conversation thread, controls, document context, and connection state.
In this article
- The main thread shows startup content, messages, responses, and operation plans.
- Chat controls open history or a temporary chat and manage the active chat.
- The request area accepts instructions and supported attachments.
- Word context comes from the document, its paragraphs, cursor, or active selection.
- The context footer indicates account, organization, and available dependencies.
Practical guidance
Use the conversation area for instructions and results, and Word itself to inspect the document being read or changed. The footer identifies the active Alæc context; it does not prove that the current selection is correct. Check both the pane and the document before applying any proposed operation.
Advanced tips
On a narrow pane, scroll through the complete operation details and results before acting. Reopening a saved chat does not restore the original Word document or selection; confirm the open file every time.
