Understand project email memory
Distinguish affiliation, queued memorization, and processing after sending.
In this article
- Confirm the project
Memorization begins with a valid affiliation between the message and project space.
- Choose the timing
A received message is queued through the memory toggle and processed when leaving its context; a draft can be marked for processing after send.
- Process the message
The service records the email artifact and can start indexing the message and attachments.
- Review the result
Check status, warnings, indexing job counts, and the returned project.
- Find it later
Accessible facts can appear in the project memory library with provenance.
Practical guidance
For a received email, enabling memory queues the current email and confirmed project; processing is triggered when leaving the item or pane context. For a draft, the toggle records a memorize-after-send choice. Neither toggle state alone proves completed indexing or that every attachment became searchable.
Advanced tips
Confirm the project before enabling memory and review completion or warning states afterward. A draft still needs normal Outlook review and sending; changing a toggle does not send it. If an earlier attempt succeeded with warnings, investigate those warnings before duplicating the request.
