A conversation keeps the context of the exchange. When your next question is about the same topic, you can usually make a short request that builds on what came before.

Ask a follow-up question

  1. Stay in the conversation containing the useful information.

  2. Refer to the previous response with a short, specific question.

  3. Add only the new information that is needed.

  4. If Alæc misunderstands your intent, specify which part of the response you are referring to.

When to continue and when to restart

Continue
Stay in the same exchange to clarify, compare, correct, or deepen the same objective and references.
New conversation
Restart when the assignment, recipient, project, confidentiality level, or decision being sought changes significantly.
Context correction
When an earlier fact is no longer true, state clearly what changed and when the correction should apply.
  • Name the earlier section, recommendation, or data point your question refers to.
  • Repeat critical figures, dates, or constraints when an error would have significant consequences.
  • Ask Alæc to summarize its understanding before a long analysis when the context is complex.
  • Do not assume that a project association automatically makes every document or fact relevant to the request.

Practical guidance

Earlier messages provide continuity, but a new request can still need explicit source selection or clarification. Describe a correction as a replacement for a named fact, not as an unrelated addition. Review the response for use of the corrected value.

Advanced tips

For a long thread, ask for a concise checkpoint containing accepted facts, unresolved questions and the next deliverable. Verify that checkpoint yourself before continuing; a summary can omit a constraint or repeat an earlier error.
