Personal chat
Use this mode for individual exchanges and requests that do not require participation from other people.
Group chat
Use this mode when a conversation must be accessible to authorized members of a group in your environment.
Temporary chat
Use this mode for a one-time exchange that you do not want to treat as a regular personal conversation.

Choose the mode before writing

  1. Determine whether the exchange must be found later or remain one-time.

  2. Identify the authorized people who need to view or continue the conversation.

  3. Verify the account, organization, and confidentiality level of the planned information.

  4. Select the mode before the first message and confirm the visible indication in the interface.

Practical effects of the mode

  • A saved personal chat belongs to your workspace and can be found in the history available to you.
  • A group chat should be used only with an authorized group and when the feature is available in your environment.
  • A temporary chat does not appear in normal history and should not be used for work you will need to resume later.
  • The mode does not replace confidentiality rules, permissions, or verification of shared content.

Do not confuse conversation mode and response mode

The modes offered depend on the current surface and enabled collaboration features. Current Studio can show personal and temporary controls without a group-chat button. Use only the mode actually offered. Auto/Pro and Deep research are processing choices in or near the composer; they do not change conversation membership or access. See the response-mode guide for those controls.

Advanced tips

  • Choose a saved personal conversation when you need to revisit files, sources or image versions. Choose the working scope before attaching project material, and inspect the selected mode again after starting a new chat.
