Use Studio on a smaller screen and with a keyboard
Find panels, dialogs, and commands when the layout becomes compact.
In this article
- On a narrow screen, open navigation before looking for a conversation, project, or workspace.
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move through visible interactive controls.
- Use Enter or Space to activate a button; use Escape to close a menu or dialog when that action is offered.
- In a dialog, keep focus inside until Save, Cancel, or Close.
- Return to the heading or first control in the view after major navigation.
Practical guidance
On small screens, navigation and secondary panels may be collapsed to leave room for the conversation. Open the relevant menu to find its labeled controls. Keyboard focus and visible selection are different: confirm which button or input currently receives your keystrokes.
Advanced tips
When checking a long source or dialog, use its own scroll area and return to the composer only after closing it. If focus is lost, navigate from a known control with Tab instead of submitting an uncertain action.
