Understand availability indicators in Help
Correctly interpret available and configuration-dependent features.
In this article
- Available
- The workflow is present in the current public implementation, subject to your access rights.
- Configuration dependent
- The feature requires an option, policy, document type, service, or permission offered in your environment.
- Deferred
- The topic remains in the plan, but no public article should present it as ready.
- Private or internal
- The content is excluded from the public site; hiding a link would not be sufficient protection.
Practical guidance
An availability label describes the documented implementation, not a live check of your tenant. The article update date records editorial changes; Guidance reviewed records when the guide was checked against its cited implementation. Neither date announces a deployment.
Advanced tips
When reporting a difference, include the article address and language, the command you expected, and the message actually shown. A configuration-dependent label is a reason to verify prerequisites, not to bypass disabled controls.
